India की सबसे बड़ी dairy cooperative Amul ने Eastern India में एक massive expansion plan announce किया है। Amul 14 June 2026 को West Bengal के Howrah district के Sankrail में एक ₹700 crore के dairy processing plant का foundation stone रखेगा। यह Eastern India में dairy sector के लिए एक game-changing investment है।
यह plant daily 15 lakh liters milk process करने में capable होगा और 10 lakh kilograms dairy products — जैसे curd, yogurt, lassi — रोज produce करेगा। Plant में दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा curd manufacturing unit होगा जो एक global record होगा। इससे Eastern India में Amul की presence और stronger होगी।
West Bengal traditionally Amul के लिए एक challenging market रहा है क्योंकि यहाँ state cooperative Mother Dairy का strong presence है। लेकिन Amul ने strategically decide किया है कि Eastern India में directly manufacturing start करके local market में compete किया जाए। इससे logistics costs भी कम होंगे।
इस plant से West Bengal में हजारों jobs create होंगी — directly और indirectly। Dairy farmers को भी benefit होगा क्योंकि milk procurement बढ़ेगी। State government ने इस investment का स्वागत किया है और necessary clearances जल्दी provide करने का आश्वासन दिया है।
Amul के MD Jayen Mehta ने कहा — “Eastern India, especially Bengal, एक high potential market है। हम यहाँ local sourcing और local manufacturing के जरिए consumers को better quality products affordable prices पर देना चाहते हैं।” Amul का plan है कि 2027 तक plant fully operational हो जाए।
Amul की यह expansion strategy India के dairy sector की growth story का हिस्सा है। India दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा milk producer है और dairy sector में investments बढ़ती जा रही हैं। Amul जैसी cooperative का expansion न सिर्फ business success है बल्कि किसानों और consumers दोनों के लिए एक win-win situation है।
