January 2026 में conclude हुए India-European Union Free Trade Agreement (FTA) को दुनिया का सबसे बड़ा trade deal कहा जा रहा है। इस landmark deal के तहत 99% से ज़्यादा Indian exports को EU के 27-member bloc में duty-free access मिलेगी। दो दशकों से चल रही negotiations के बाद यह ऐतिहासिक समझौता हुआ।
World Economic Forum ने इसे “Mother of All Deals” का नाम दिया है। Deal के अनुसार EU के 96% से ज़्यादा goods को India में reduced या zero tariffs पर access मिलेगी, जबकि European luxury cars और wines India में पहले से सस्ती होंगी। India की तरफ से textile, pharmaceuticals, IT services और engineering goods को सबसे ज़्यादा फायदा होगा।
यह deal India और EU दोनों के लिए अब तक का सबसे बड़ा trade agreement है। European Commission का अनुमान है कि इस deal से EU के India को exports 2032 तक double हो जाएंगे। India के लिए यह ‘Make in India’ initiative को एक बड़ा boost है।
Commerce Ministry के अनुसार, इस agreement के लागू होने से पहले EU Council of Ministers, European Parliament और India की Union Cabinet की मंज़ूरी ज़रूरी है। उम्मीद है कि यह deal early 2027 तक effective हो जाएगी। Indian exporters, खासकर garment और pharma sector के लोग, इस deal का बेसब्री से इंतज़ार कर रहे हैं।
PM Modi ने इस deal को India की diplomatic और economic success बताया। Experts का कहना है कि US tariff tensions के बीच यह deal India के लिए एक alternative और stable export market खोलती है, जो long-term economic growth के लिए बेहद ज़रूरी है।
