India के Health Minister ने एक landmark healthcare initiative launch किया है — “Project Chandana” जो देश में Sickle Cell Anaemia के खिलाफ एक comprehensive national campaign है। यह disease India के tribal और rural populations को बड़े पैमाने पर affect करती है और अब तक adequate attention नहीं मिली थी।
Sickle Cell Anaemia एक genetic blood disorder है जिसमें red blood cells का shape abnormal हो जाता है। यह disease India के tribal communities में particularly prevalent है — Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand और Odisha के tribal belts में लाखों लोग इससे affected हैं।
Project Chandana के तहत nationwide screening programs शुरू होंगे। Children और young adults की early diagnosis से timely treatment possible होगा। Genetic counselling services भी provide की जाएंगी ताकि future generations में disease को reduce किया जा सके।
Project का एक important component है awareness generation। Rural और tribal areas में healthcare workers को train किया जाएगा। Mobile health units इन remote areas तक पहुँचेंगी जहाँ traditional healthcare infrastructure कमज़ोर है।
यह initiative India के broader Ayushman Bharat framework का हिस्सा है जो Universal Health Coverage की दिशा में काम कर रहा है। Project Chandana दर्शाता है कि India अब पहले की neglected diseases पर भी serious attention दे रहा है। यह उन lakhs of families के लिए hope की किरण है जो generations से इस painful disease से जूझ रहे हैं।
