India के AI startup ecosystem में एक बड़ी खबर आई है। Bengaluru-based Sarvam AI ने $234 million (करीब ₹1,950 करोड़) की funding raise करके India का newest AI unicorn बनने का गौरव हासिल किया है। Company की valuation अब $1.5 billion (₹12,500 करोड़) हो गई है।
इस funding round को HCLTech ने lead किया, जिसने अकेले $150 million invest किए। साथ में Bessemer Venture Partners, Khosla Ventures और Peak XV Partners भी शामिल हैं। यह India के sovereign AI ambition के लिए एक landmark moment है।
Sarvam AI क्या करता है? यह company Indian languages और use cases के लिए specially designed AI models बनाती है। इसके products banking, insurance, government services और defence में deploy हो रहे हैं। Company का focus है “Sovereign AI” — यानी ऐसी AI जो India के data, languages और priorities को समझे और विदेशी tech giants पर dependence को कम करे।
HCLTech का यह investment purely financial नहीं है — यह एक strategic partnership है। HCLTech का plan है कि Sarvam के AI models को अपने enterprise clients और government contracts में integrate किया जाए। यानी एक Indian IT giant और एक Indian AI startup मिलकर global markets में compete करेंगे।
India की government ने भी AI को national priority declare किया है। Prime Minister Modi के “India AI Mission” के तहत ₹10,000 crore का allocation किया गया है। Sarvam जैसी companies इस mission की backbone बन सकती हैं। Company ने total Series B round के लिए $300 million raise करने का target रखा है।
Tech community में इस news को बड़े excitement से देखा जा रहा है। “यह सिर्फ एक unicorn नहीं है — यह India की AI sovereignty का प्रतीक है।” अगर Sarvam अपने goals achieve करती है, तो यह OpenAI और Google के जवाब में India का homegrown AI champion बन सकती है — हमारी भाषाओं में, हमारे लोगों के लिए।
