India ने Artificial Intelligence में एक bold और ambitious bet लगाई है। IndiaAI Mission के तहत government ने $1.25 billion (करीब ₹10,400 करोड़) की commitment की है जो India को AI में globally competitive बनाने के लिए है। यह investment compute infrastructure, foundational models, research और AI startups ecosystem को support करेगी।
“Sovereign AI” का concept simple है — India के लिए AI stack India में हो। Model weights, training data, inference infrastructure और deployment — सब कुछ Indian control में। यह सिर्फ technology की बात नहीं, यह national security और economic independence की बात है। US या Chinese AI labs पर 100% निर्भरता एक strategic vulnerability है।
India की AI journey में तीन companies सबसे आगे हैं — Sarvam AI (जो हाल ही में $1.5B valuation पर unicorn बनी), Krutrim (Ola के founder Bhavish Aggarwal की company) और Neysa। ये तीनों AI stack के different layers पर काम कर रहे हैं — Sarvam foundational models पर, Krutrim infrastructure पर और Neysa enterprise AI पर।
Government ने 38,000 से अधिक GPUs AI compute portal के through startups के लिए उपलब्ध कराए हैं और इनकी rate ₹115-150 प्रति GPU-hour है जो market rate से 42% कम है। December 2026 तक 1 lakh public GPUs का target है। यह affordable compute India के AI startups के लिए game-changer है।
India का focus multilingual AI पर भी है। 22 official languages और सैकड़ों dialects के साथ India एक linguistically diverse nation है। English-only AI models यहाँ limited utility के हैं। Sarvam जैसी companies Bhojpuri, Tamil, Bengali और Marathi में AI models build कर रही हैं जो real Bharat की ज़रूरतें पूरी करेंगे।
Challenges भी हैं — India के पास अभी frontier AI model नहीं है जो US या China के साथ compete करे। Domestic chip manufacturing नहीं है — NVIDIA पर निर्भरता है। Data privacy laws और AI regulation framework अभी evolve हो रहे हैं। लेकिन direction सही है और momentum strong है। India का AI revolution अभी शुरू हुआ है — best अभी आना बाकी है!
