India में sickle cell anaemia से लड़ने के लिए एक बड़ा कदम उठाया गया है। Health Minister ने Project Chandana को officially launch किया है — यह एक focused initiative है जो देश में sickle cell disease से पीड़ित लाखों लोगों की मदद करेगा। यह खबर खासतौर पर tribal और rural communities के लिए बेहद महत्वपूर्ण है।
Sickle Cell Anaemia एक genetic blood disorder है जिसमें red blood cells का shape abnormal हो जाता है। इससे chronic pain, organ damage और life expectancy में कमी आती है। India में यह disease खासकर tribal populations में ज्यादा prevalent है — Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Jharkhand जैसे states में इसके सबसे ज्यादा cases हैं।
Project Chandana के तहत early screening, diagnosis, treatment और counseling की comprehensive services provide की जाएंगी। Genetic counseling से families को यह समझने में मदद मिलेगी कि यह disease कैसे transmit होती है और इसे कैसे prevent किया जा सकता है।
सरकार ने National Sickle Cell Anaemia Elimination Mission के तहत 2047 तक इस disease को significantly reduce करने का लक्ष्य रखा है। Project Chandana इसी mission का एक important part है। Rural healthcare infrastructure को मजबूत करने और district hospitals में treatment capacity बढ़ाने पर focus किया जाएगा।
यह initiative India के healthcare system की उस commitment को दर्शाती है जो यह सुनिश्चित करती है कि rare और neglected diseases को भी उतनी ही attention मिले। Project Chandana से affected communities में hope की एक नई किरण जगी है।
