India की energy sector में एक बड़ा बदलाव आने वाला है। Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy ने announce किया है कि 35 से ज़्यादा companies अगले 2 महीनों में coal gasification activities शुरू करेंगी। यह India की energy security strategy का एक critical हिस्सा है।
Coal gasification क्या है? इस process में coal को directly जलाने की बजाय उसे gas में convert किया जाता है — जिसे syngas कहते हैं। इस gas का use fertilizers, chemicals और fuel बनाने में होता है। यह technology coal को cleaner और more efficient तरीके से use करने का तरीका है।
Government ने इस sector को ₹46,000 crore का incentive package दिया है। साथ ही, PM ने Jharsuguda, Odisha में ₹25,016 crore के Lakhanpur coal gasification project का foundation stone रखा। यह project India के import substitution goals को achieve करने में मदद करेगा।
Kishan Reddy ने यह भी कहा कि जो companies technology India में लेकर आएंगी, उन्हें special support मिलेगी। India अभी भी coal gasification technology में globally behind है — इसलिए technology transfer पर focus किया जा रहा है।
India के पास दुनिया का 4th largest coal reserve है। अगर हम इस coal को efficiently gasify कर सकें, तो costly LNG और other imports पर dependence कम होगी। यह “Atmanirbhar Bharat” का एक real-world implementation है।
यह initiative India को energy self-sufficient बनाने की दिशा में एक major step है। आने वाले महीनों में इन 35+ companies का काम शुरू होते देखना exciting होगा।
