भारत में coal का नया future लिखा जा रहा है! Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy ने announce किया है कि सरकार coal gasification के लिए ₹46,000 करोड़ का incentive package दे रही है, और 35 से ज़्यादा companies अगले दो महीनों में coal gasification activities शुरू करेंगी।
PM Modi ने virtually ₹25,000 crore के Coal-to-Ammonium Nitrate Project of Bharat Coal Gasification and Chemicals Limited (BCGCL) की foundation stone रखी। यह India का पहला commercial-scale coal-to-ammonium nitrate facility होगा, जो India’s domestically developed pressurised fluidised bed gasification (PFBG) technology से चलेगा।
Coal Gasification क्या है? Coal को directly जलाने की बजाय उसे synthetic gas (syngas) में convert किया जाता है। इस syngas को energy, fertilizers, chemicals, और fuels के लिए use किया जा सकता है — traditional coal burning से ज़्यादा clean और efficient।
India के लिए यह क्यों important है? India के पास world’s fourth largest coal reserves हैं। BCGCL project approximately 0.66 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) technical grade ammonium nitrate produce करेगा। इससे import substitution होगा, farmers को cheaper fertilizers मिलेंगी, domestic employment बढ़ेगा, और energy security strengthen होगी।
Kishan Reddy ने कहा: “यह project India के abundant coal resources को value-added products में convert करने का historic step है। Centre is prioritising energy security by shifting towards coal gasification।”
